Rotifer
We are honoured to announce that Gare Du Nord recording artist Robert Rotifer will be playing for us at the Cosmo 2 Club. Viennese exile Mr Rotifer will be accompanied by Ruth Tidmarsh (Alternative TV) on bass/backing vocals and his long-time drumming companion and musical pal Ian Button (who has played in far too many class outfits to note here). Being a rare outing for this classic electric three-piece expect to hear such classic Rotifer numbers as 'The Frankfurt Kitchen', 'Aberdeen Marine Lab' and 'Canvey Island’, songs that are full of lyrical wit and melodic beauty. Rotifer’s tunes have been compared to master songwriter Robyn Hitchcock and have also been praised by the likes of the legendary Robert Wyatt. Rotifer are a band who believe in the power of the descriptive pop lyric and the sublime chordal change and ultimately in the art and value of songwriting which is the very essence of the Cosmo 2 Club. Don’t miss the Rotifer Trio….we highly recommended them to you.

Drew Morrison and the Darkwood
House band Drew Morrison and the Darkwood’s central vision of a music illuminated by the guiding star genres of Country, Pop & Rock ‘N' Roll all tinged with wide open spaced Bob Nolanesque 'golden chording' has remained focussed and realised itself into a unique sound. Expect to hear flashes of late 1960s Velvets, Jimmy Webb-esque wordplay and electrical guitar playing that has one foot in the 1950s and the other very much in the now. The Darkwood features Drew Morrison singing/guitar, George London bass/singing, Ian Gant on guitar and Nick Steyn on drums.
