Meet nine extraordinary women mountaineers from the 18th century to the present day who defied extreme altitudes, blizzards, avalanches (and rampant discrimination) to achieve an honour long reserved for men and monarchs.Though their names endure on soaring summits, their remarkable stories remain largely untold – until now.
Join us to hear all about them from Rosemary Brown, the author of a new book, Moving Mountains, which charts their lives and climbs.
Copies of the book will be available on the night.
The talk will be held at the Alpine Club's premises at 55 Charlotte Road, EC2A 3QF and, as always, non-members are welcome to attend.
For safety reasons, we are required to keep a register of all attendees. If you plan to attend, please complete the form here: https://alpineclub.org/event/rosemary-brown-moving-mountains-intrepid-women-climbers-and-the-peaks-named-in-their-honour
