What makes a place feel like home?
Join us for the opening of ROOTED, a new solo exhibition by McKenna Prather inspired by the landscapes, traditions and memories connecting Alberta and Newfoundland.
Moving between mountain trails, prairie skies, rugged coastlines, family cabins and weathered buildings, Prather turns familiar places and quiet moments into richly layered paintings. Quilt-inspired patterns and stitched details appear throughout the collection, reflecting the handmade traditions, family histories and memories that shape our sense of belonging.
ROOTED is ultimately less about geography than connection: the places we return to, the traditions we carry with us and the landscapes that become part of who we are.
