"But how did this come to be?" I hear you cry from the edge of your seats, straining for a longwinded backstory.
The year is 2005, and in a prefab building at the back of Logan Park High School, three students and their long-suffering music teacher are unknowingly sewing the seeds of what is destined to be one of THE many gigs happening in Dunedin in October, 2026.
It was in the now non-existent Room 82 where a lot of our musical journeys began, but it wasn't until over two decades later that we realised we've never actually played a gig with the teacher we affectionately (although never to his face) called Dodsy! So here we finally are, putting that to rights, reliving the glory days of our youth (or relative youth as the case may be), just like we did in NCEA group performance assessments of old. With a hodgepodge setlist of old favourites and a few outside-the-box ideas, we guarantee to get your toes tapping and hips shaking for at least 63% of the evening!*
The room may be gone, but the lessons, the music, and the connections remain, propelling us towards the next endeavour.
