Rockwater Comedy Night returns to The Pub for an evening of brilliant stand-up in a setting that’s anything but your typical comedy club.
Over the years, we’ve welcomed some of the UK’s best-loved comedians to the Rockwater stage, including Russel Kane, Al Murray, Adam Kay, Suzie Ruffell, Jen Brister and Seann Walsh, just to name a few.
This season opens with another exceptional line-up, ready to keep you laughing all night long.
Arrive from 7pm, giving you plenty of time to settle in, order another round and find your seat. Seating is first come, first served, with pizzas and bar snacks available in The Pub, or book a table in the Bar & Kitchen beforehand if you’re after a pre-show dinner.
From 8.00pm, the lights will dim and the laughs begin.
Your host for the evening is Ben Robson, local legend and comedian who will be your MC for the night. Expect sharp hosting, quick wit, and the kind of easy energy that sets the tone from the very first laugh.
The Line – Up:
Opening the night is stand-up comedian from the Southeast Martin Wratten; former ice cream seller turned stand-up comic. Recipient of the Leicester Mercury Comedian of The Year Award in 2018 Martin now frequently performs on the UK comedy circuit.
Headlining the evening is Mike Gunn know for TV appearances including: Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1), Celebrity Deal or no Deal (CH 4), Harry Hill’s TV Burp (ITV).
Mike Gunn’s history is as interesting and entertaining as his comedy. A misspent youth and a series of grim jobs cultivated his cynical outlook on life and a perverse desire led him to the world of stand-up. A self-confessed pessimist, he describes himself as “not a natural choice for a career in laughter”.
A frequent headliner at all the top comedy venues in the UK and is rapidly reaching cult status on the circuit.
