About this Event
Rochdale Business Connect brings together a small group of local businesses to share experiences, tackle real business challenges, explore opportunities and make useful connections.
This isn't a traditional networking event, workshop or presentation.
It's a practical, business-led session where the experience, knowledge and connections in the room are used to help businesses move forward.
Places are limited to create a small, interactive session where everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
October's focus: Winning More Customers
This month we'll explore the challenges and opportunities businesses face when trying to find, reach and win new customers.
The conversation could include:
- Finding new customers and markets
- Reaching the right decision-makers
- Generating referrals and making better use of networks
- Sales and business development
- Identifying local opportunities
- Winning work through procurement and supply chains
- Collaboration between businesses
There isn't a fixed agenda or presentation. The conversation will be shaped by the businesses in the room and the challenges and opportunities they bring with them.
What to expect
You'll be asked to briefly introduce yourself, your business and one challenge you're trying to solve or opportunity you're looking to unlock.
From there, we'll use facilitated discussion to share experiences, ideas, contacts and potential solutions, with time built in to make useful connections with other businesses.
The aim is that everyone leaves with something useful they can act on, whether that's:
- A new idea or different perspective
- A useful business connection or introduction
- Advice or experience from another business
- A potential opportunity or collaboration
- A practical next step
What we ask from you
Come prepared to briefly tell us:
- Who you are
- What your business does
- One challenge you're trying to solve OR opportunity you're trying to unlock
Introductions will be kept short so that everyone gets the opportunity to contribute.
This isn't about sales pitches. It's about businesses sharing real experiences, helping one another and making useful connections.
Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub support
The Business Growth Hub will facilitate the session, help make relevant connections and signpost opportunities or support where useful.
If you'd like further help with something raised during the session, you'll also have the option to book a separate conversation with a Business Growth Hub adviser at or after the event.
This is entirely optional. There is no requirement to register for Business Growth Hub support to attend Rochdale Business Connect.
Who should attend?
Businesses of all sizes and sectors from across Rochdale, Middleton, Heywood and Littleborough are welcome.
Places are limited to keep the session small and interactive, giving everyone the opportunity to contribute, share experiences and make useful connections. Early booking is recommended.
Future Rochdale Business Connect sessions
As part of the pilot, sessions will alternate between general business discussions and focused sessions around particular challenges, opportunities, themes or sectors.
Future sessions will continue to be shaped by what we're hearing directly from local businesses in the room.
Bring a challenge or opportunity. Share your experience. Make useful connections. Leave with something you can act on.
