Thursday 8th October, 7.30pm
Tickets are £10 (+ b/f) in advance
*This is a standing show*
Slightly too arty to be indie and slightly too poppy to be art-rock, Robo have always run their own race – and right now, they’re picking up speed. On 8th October, the York four-piece play The Crescent for their biggest headline show to date. For one night only, piano and strings will join them on stage, expanding their unpredictable, melodic sound.
Since signing to Gary Powell of The Libertines’ 25 Hour Convenience Store label last September, Robo have had a huge year, completing two UK tours, selling out two York shows and building a growing audience across the country. Their latest single, Claw Machine, picked up BBC Radio 6 Music airplay from Chris Hawkins, who called it his “new favourite thing from an exciting new band.”
With their third UK tour coming this autumn and new Powell-produced music recorded at the Albion Rooms in Margate, Robo are bringing it all home.
