The Battle of Kings Mountain was a pivotal Revolutionary War turning point in the South. By destroying Major Patrick Ferguson’s loyalist army, the Patriot victory halted the British advance, forced Lord Cornwallis to retreat, and reignited American morale during a dark period. There is a really interesting 20-30 minutes walk around the battle ground, well worth the visit. Ride to Kings Mountain National Military Park.
