RIBA North Stitching Time: ‘Just Come In’
11am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-3pm, Thursday 12th November 2026

Free, please book a place. On the day drop-ins welcome.
Join RIBA Learning for a morning or afternoon of sewing and chat within the exhibition ‘Just Come In: 30 Years of Maggie’s Centres’. We will be adding to the Stitching Time project started in 2025 and hope visitors will join us again to sew. The fabric is an evolving piece that reflects the contributors' interests and represents the conversations that unfold.
Come along to meet new people or chat to an old friend, while you stitch some shapes, words, patterns or draw with thread. The gallery will become our communal studio to create a mindful stitched work together. We will be joined by the exhibition curator, Kate Dooley.
For all ages, under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
About the workshop facilitators
The workshop is led by Lil Adams and Edie Parfitt from RIBA Learning. Lil is an artist, jeweller and educator, her sewing has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition multiple times and as part of immersive exhibitions with TRACES. Edie is an architectural designer and maker, with an interest in sustainability, materiality and collaborative learning. The RIBA Learning programme provides exciting opportunities for everyone to explore, question and celebrate architecture.

- there is step free access to the main entrance
- access to the first floor via 23 stairs or passenger lift (90cm by 110cm).
- guide dogs are welcome

- seating: portable folding stools are available on request – please ask a member of staff for assistance
