About this Event
Rhythms of Reflection: Día de los Muertos
Rhythms of Reflection is a guided meditation and live ambient guitar experience born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and now held in San Diego. It is designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and reflect.
For this special Día de los Muertos ceremony, we will come together to honor and remember loved ones who have passed, including family members, friends, and beloved pets.
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican tradition centered around remembering and celebrating those who are no longer with us. Rather than focusing solely on loss, it creates space to keep loved ones present through memory, stories, photographs, music, food, and shared moments.
This special Rhythms of Reflection experience will combine ceremonial cacao, a deeply visual guided meditation, and live improvised ambient guitar. The meditation will be specifically designed around remembrance, connection, and reflection, creating space to bring a loved one to mind and spend some quiet time with their memory.
We will also create a small altar as part of the ceremony. You are invited to bring a photograph, small keepsake, or anything else that reminds you of someone you have lost. You are welcome to bring something representing a loved one, a friend, a family member, or a beloved pet. These items will become part of the shared space for the evening.
The cacao, meditation, and music will all work together to create a calm, introspective atmosphere. Throughout the experience, the music is performed live and improvised in real time. Because the meditation and music are both improvised, every ceremony unfolds a little differently.
This is a special opportunity to slow down, remember someone you love, and spend some intentional time with their memory. You do not need any meditation experience to participate.
Come solo, bring a partner, or bring a friend. Whether you come with someone specific in mind or simply want to be part of the experience, you are welcome.
A limited number of early bird tickets will be available at a discounted rate for this event.

“Michael’s amazing guitar music was ethereal… I was able to relax and definitely drift off to another world for a while… The Guatemalan cacao drink added another wonderful layer to the experience.”
