The Retro Tech Foundation is a nonprofit museum in Watertown, Connecticut, dedicated to preserving the history of Apple computers and the people who used them. Our collection holds more than 1,500 computers, accessories and artifacts, most of them kept in working order so visitors can sit down and use them, not just look at them.On November 14, we open our doors to the public for the first time.
Walk nearly five decades of Apple history in our Timeline gallery, step inside a full-scale recreation of the Crist Drive garage where the first Apple-1 boards were assembled (built with guidance from early Apple employee Daniel Kottke), and tour the archive behind the exhibits.
We're honored to welcome computing pioneer Liza Loop as our special guest. In 1975 she opened one of the first public-access computer centers and brought her passion for computer education to the Homebrew Computer Club. Steve Wozniak later gave her an Apple-1 for her students. She'll bring that Apple-1 to Watertown and join co-founder Jacob Komar for a fireside chat on how computers first made their way into classrooms.
