Remembrance Every Day commemorates the landmark exhibition of the same name, which premiered at the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery in the fall of 2025. Bringing together the work of 22 artists from across Canada working in clay, glass, and vitreous enamel, the exhibition marked the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and explored the enduring impact of conflict, the importance of peacekeeping, and the role of remembrance in a rapidly changing world.
More than an exhibition catalogue, this publication extends the legacy of the project beyond the Gallery walls. It documents the artworks, ideas, and conversations that emerged through the exhibition while preserving the voices of the participating artists for future generations. It also celebrates the Remembrance Gardens of Poppies, a series of community art installations created through workshops held across Canada in partnership with local Canadian Legions, including a community workshop in Waterloo Region.
Through essays, images, and reflections, Remembrance Every Day serves as both a record of a significant national exhibition and an enduring testament to the power of art to foster remembrance, dialogue, and hope.
The exhibition and publication were made possible through the generous support of the MILD Foundation, Veterans Affairs Canada, the City of Waterloo, the Kitchener Conestoga Rotary Club, the Waterloo Rotary Club, and in memory of RCAF Flying Officer W.E. Short.
