Drummer, composer and bandleader Ernesto Cervini has built a reputation as one of Canada’s most distinctive and energetic jazz artists. The ensemble marks a new chapter in Cervini’s music, combining the melodic and rhythmic drive that has long defined his writing with a fresh, open-ended approach to the jazz quartet. Drawing inspiration from artists including Radiohead, The Smile, Avishai Cohen, Nir Felder, The Bad Plus and Pat Metheny, the group moves freely between lyrical melodies, intricate grooves, improvisation and raw energy.
Also featuring: Kae Murphy-trumpet and EVI, Andrew Marzotto-guitar, Mark Godfrey-bass
