At the fourth event in this series, we'll discuss the power of collective action to create a more resilient built environment.
About this Event

Throughout the first three sessions of Reframing Resilience, one theme came up again and again: collaboration. Whether the focus was on retrofitting existing building stock, sourcing materials responsibly, or designing places that can adapt to the needs of their communities, our speakers repeatedly highlighted cross-industry partnership as the essential factor in turning ambition into action.

For our fourth event, we’re bringing together representatives from three cross-industry groups that Heyne Tillett Steel is proud to be a part of - each of them addressing a different barrier to resilient, low-carbon construction through collective action.

  • (tERC) is a not-for-profit group of practising engineers championing, accelerating and delivering reuse in the built environment. Founded in 2024 by engineering firms Heyne Tillett Steel, Buro Happold, Civic Engineers, Elliott Wood, Webb Yates Engineers and Whitby Wood, the collective is now made up of over 60 member practices.
  • , a campaign which focuses on embodied carbon and advocates for the productive reuse of empty and underperforming buildings, was set up by Leanne Tritton in 2022. With 8 regional chapters and over 2500 members, the group is run by a committee of leading property developers, financiers, architects, engineers, heritage experts, and other specialists.
  • The (ACDG) is a developer-led initiative focused on driving the market adoption of lower-carbon concrete through real-time prototyping and testing. Established in 2025 by Derwent London, the ACDG works with established concrete industry groups and suppliers to unlock the potential of low-carbon concrete.

Our speakers will share their knowledge about making cross-industry collaboration work, the successes and the challenges, and the power of collective action to create a more resilient built environment.
