We do not learn from experience. We learn from reflecting on that experience.
– John Dewey
Reflective Supervision is a session of contracted reflective practice between supervisor and supervisee(s). It explores the interplay between soul, role and context for the ultimate benefit of the client.
The purpose of reflective supervision is to support and improve practice, and to enhance practitioner wellbeing. While it can be useful in diverse contexts, Reflective Supervision requires commitment to a regular, collaborative process and is often practiced by those supervising staff in the health, mental health and community sectors, in clinical or case management roles.
To become a skilled supervisor, we must first be an open and skilful supervisee. So, this course will help you to be a more effective supervisee, understand the role of the supervisor and consider how reflective supervision could work in your context.
This popular course is also offered as an abridged half-day online version. Details of the topics to be covered in a half day will appear on the event booking site when offered in our public training calendar.
