Reassembled / Сабраныя нановаA multilingual poetic documentary performance
To leave or to stay -- the eternal question facing opponents of repressive regimes. Should they set out into exile, abandoning, under threat of imprisonment, a familiar creative life, or should they choose inner emigration and silence as an art of survival? How to mend this rupture, how to restore mutual understanding, how to reassemble one's own identity, shattered by the historical events of the new century?
In the theatrical production "Reassembled," Belarusian artists in exile use poetry, dance, and visual art to make sense of their own experience abroad and to search for points of contact with anonymous colleagues who, remaining in Belarus amid fear and powerlessness, find ways to survive under an authoritarian state.
Languages: German, Belarusian, and English. No surtitles.
A post-show discussion will be held in Belarusian, with interpretation into English.
