This educational Lunch & Learn is intended for real estate professionals seeking a better understanding of financing options that may be relevant when working with homeowners 62 years of age and older.
During this session, Dominic DesMarais with Fairway Home Mortgage will provide a general overview of the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage for Purchase (H4P) loan. The H4P reverse mortgage loan is a Federal Housing Administration (FHA)-insured home loan that is designed to help homebuyers age 62+ to buy a new home that better meets their current lifestyle.
Discussion topics include:
- A general overview of the H4P loan program
- Eligibility requirements, including age and counseling requirements
- Examples of situations where a HECM may be considered by homeowners 62+
- How Realtors can identify when a client may benefit from speaking with a licensed loan originator
