Reading the World, One Novel at a Time. October 2025 meeting.

This month, we turn our gaze to Scotland, and a classic novel by the much lauded poet John Burnside: The Dumb House.

Amazon summery of The Dumb House: As a child, Luke’s mother often tells him the story of the Dumb House, an experiment on newborn babies raised in silence, designed to test the innateness of language.
