Learn to read crochet charts with The Granny Square Card Deck & Granny Square Flower Deck - Saturday 19 September, 2pm to 5pm.Using The Granny Square Card Deck by designer Claire Montgomerie, we will be showing you how to read crochet charts and use the decks in this three hour workshop. Faye will introduce you to the decks of 50 bright and fun motifs and demonstrate how to use the cards and charts. Everyone will get to pick their own motif to hook and will use the charted pattern on the reverse to make it, all the while being carefully guided through any new techniques. We will be working in the round, plus depending on your skill level, perhaps looking at how to create cluster stitches such as Shells, Puffs and Bobbles. This is a three hour workshop where the techniques are demonstrated and explained, which you can then put into practice as you follow one of the cards.
Skill Level - Improver, participants must at least know the basic stitches, UK double crochet, half treble and treble crochet
Materials
Double Knit yarn will be provided,
You will need to bring your own hooks - 3.5 or 4 or 4.5 mm hook depending on your tension - the deck cards use a 4mm hook and DK yarn to achieve the 10x10cm size.
Plus stitch markers, scissors, darning needles provided on request
