Come celebrate banned books at the start of Banned Books Week with the Read Me, Baby cabaret. We will have readings from banned books alongside drag, music, poetry, burlesque, and more! Join us Sunday October 4th, 2-4 pm at the Allways Lounge. This will be a defiant celebration of the joy that banned books and reading in general brings into our lives. It also mark the launch of Lavender Cafe & Bookstore, a new LGBTQ+ led third space and cultural hub. Operating as a pop-up while searching for the right spot for our brick and mortar, Lavender connects people to the books, culture, and community that brings joy and nourishment to their lives.
Help us spread the word and get a great launch by inviting your friends and celebrating the power of words and art with us!
