About this Event
We’ll be gathering for a guided tasting of three wines that pair with the book and a book discussion of The Merlot Murders, by Ellen Crosby.
Johnny, Curio's owner and winemaker, will guide the tasting, comparing and contrasting the wine styles. Johnny thinks that it's only fitting to read this mystery set in Virginia Wine Country during Virginia Wine Month. Andie, owner of Novel Books will be leading the book discussion! It all takes place in Curio's cozy wine cellar.
📖 How it works:
• Show your ticket for this class when you purchase your copy of The Merlot Murders and receive 10% off the book at Novel (book not included with this class ticket). Novel is located at 212 William St., right across from Curio.
• Purchase your ticket (here!) for the event at Curio
An evening designed for readers, wine lovers, and anyone who enjoys slowing down and savoring the story behind what’s in the glass.
More about The Merlot Murders:
"Someone wants to buy the 500 acre farm and vineyard located at the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains which has belonged to Lucie Montgomery's family since colonial days. And they are apparently willing to commit M**der to get it.
When Lucie's father Leland dies under questionable circumstances, the vineyard passes to his three children. But Lucie, who has been living in France for several years, quickly discovers that her brother and sister can't wait to nail up the "For Sale" sign while she is the lone holdout for reviving the ailing winery.
All too soon it's clear she's the new target of whoever wants her family's land. With a growing list of suspects — including the new cut-rate vintner her father hired shortly before he died — Lucie must act quickly to uncover the identity of a killer who seems disturbingly close to home.." - Publisher Book Description
