About this Event
re-membering the way: an embodied exploration of migration through the poetry of our lived experience.
what does it mean to migrate?
to leave one place and enter another. to cross a threshold. to carry what has shaped us while becoming someone or something new.
in this embodied poetry workshop, we will explore migration not only as movement across land, but as movement through memory, identity, longing, belonging, and transformation. through somatic practice, contemplation, community, and writing, we will listen for the stories held in the body—we will follow the threads that help us journey back to the places we have come from, and lead us forward into where we long to go.
we will notice what we have carried, what we want to put down, and the ways we have changed. we will acknowledge and make space for the selves still asking to be born.
together, we will explore poetry as a living practice: a way of listening beneath language, following what the body knows, and giving form to what is moving within us.
no previous writing or movement experience is necessary. come as you are, come curious. this is an invitation to re-member our inner and outer migration as the sacred movement of becoming.

cat h. bradley (she/her) is a revolutionary earth child and healing artist born, raised, and returned to the Anishinaabe lands of the midwest, in ann arbor, michigan. all of her work is created to be in service of first her own and then our collective liberation and return to love.
her intention is that her work has an arousing and reWilding effect. through sharing her own truth of spirit, she hopes to connect others with their own, sowing seeds of desire that help them re-member and reclaim their deeper, more primal and brilliant nature—and freer ways of being.
cat is a poet, spoken word artist, somatic and contemplative coach, and yoga and meditation teacher whose guidance is rooted in nearly two decades of devoted practice. her integrated life/work pulse at the intersection of healing, embodiment, creativity, and spiritual practice. she creates and facilitates experiences that invite people out of abstraction and back into relationship with the body, using language, movement, sensation, reflection, and presence as pathways toward greater aliveness and self-knowing. her most recent work includes ‘i want you to want me’, a one-woman spoken word experience exploring longing, worthiness, self-wanting, and the liberatory practice of choosing oneself.
cat is a radically embodied weaver of energy, lyric, rhythm, pleasure, joy, flow, and soul love. she longs to make healing irresistible.
