The strength of a country’s Higher Education system is pivotal to its long-term development and international standing. Yet globally, Higher Education today faces significant challenges, from state interference and issues around academic freedom to funding shortfalls, resource gaps and rapid growth in technology.
As India charts its path towards ‘developed country’ status, what can its growing Higher Education sector take from the successes and failures in countries such as the UK and USA? What opportunities does it have to innovate new Higher Education models that enable it to play an increasing role in solving the world’s most pressing challenges? And where can international cooperation between institutions contribute to this?
This discussion will explore the possibilities for innovation in Higher Education, from funding and international campuses to collaboration with industry and communities, aiming to share best practice and facilitate UK-India cooperation.
