Surrounded by nearly 100 depictions of saints in the unique setting of the Lady Chapel, Amy Jeffs will reveal how this medieval fascination influenced our culture over the centuries.
Hear the legendary stories behind some of our nations significant saints and discover how they have influenced the history of our capital while sitting metres from St Edward the Confessor’s tomb, an active site of religious pilgrimage.
Copies of Saints will be available for purchase and signing after this event.
About Amy Jeffs
Amy Jeffs is an author and artist who specialises in medieval art and culture. Her first book, Storyland: A New Mythology of Britain, was a Sunday Times bestseller, shortlisted for Waterstones Book of the Year and named a Times Historical Fiction Book of the Year. Her second book, Wild: Tales from Early Medieval Britain, explores an old idea of the wilderness through medieval stories of outcasts, monsters and the natural world. Saints: Legends of Heroes, Humans and Magic is her third book. She has a PhD in Art History from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
