Jazz singing draws on a wide range of contemporary influences, including R&B, pop, and soul. This workshop explores how elements of those styles—phrasing, ornamentation, tone, and delivery—can be applied to standards from the Great American Songbook in ways that expand expressive range while remaining grounded in the song.Students should bring one or two songs, with charts in the correct key, to perform in class.
