About this Event

☀️ Radiant Roots: International Yoga Day & Summer Solstice Celebration ☀️

Join us for a special gathering celebrating International Yoga Day and the Summer Solstice through Yoga, breath, meditation and reflection.

As we welcome the longest day of the year and honour a global celebration of Yoga, this session invites us to reconnect with the deeper roots of the practice and explore how its wisdom can support us in modern life.

Together, we’ll journey through the eight limbs of Yoga, not as philosophy to be studied, but as practices to be experienced. Through movement, breath, meditation and moments of reflection, we’ll explore how Yoga extends far beyond the mat, offering tools for living with greater awareness, balance, compassion and presence.

This is not about achieving perfection or mastering complex concepts. Instead, it is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect and experience Yoga as a holistic practice for body, mind and life.

Whether you’re completely new to Yoga or have been practising for years, you’re welcome.

What the session includes

🧘 Restorative Yoga

A slow and gentl Yoga practice inspired by the eight limbs of Yoga, inviting us to explore steadiness, awareness and connection through movement.

🌬️ Breathwork

Simple, guided breathing practices to help regulate the nervous system, steady the mind and deepen awareness.

Eight-Limbed Exploration

An accessible journey through the eight limbs of Yoga, woven throughout the session through practical experiences, reflections and discussion.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Meditation

A short, grounding meditation to close the session, offering time to rest, reflect and settle.

After the practice

We will close the afternoon gently with tea, giving everyone time to land slowly, connect, and enjoy a moment of quiet community together.

Benefits of the session

Participants often experience:

  • Greater calm and clarity
  • A deeper connection to Yoga beyond the physical practice

About your facilitator

This session is hosted by Ebony Somo.

Ebony is a movement and wellbeing practitioner who creates spaces that invite people to reconnect, explore and feel more at home in their bodies.

Her approach is grounded in the meeting point between strength and softness, structure and flow. Her sessions are intuitive and responsive, offering space to move with awareness, follow what feels right, and meet the body as it is on any given day.

She is the founder of Fiery Hearts, a community-led organisation creating accessible spaces where movement, creativity and connection come together. Her facilitation style is warm, grounded and deeply human, creating experiences that feel both supportive and expansive.

Scent Awareness

As part of the atmosphere, we may gently introduce natural scents through incense or diffused essential oils. If scent is something you’re sensitive to, please let us know ahead of time and we’ll happily make adjustments.
