A fundraiser for The Feminine Urge
For many queer folks, high school prom was a flop. You were probably forced to give dead-name-in-the-closet-Macy's-mall drag...or maybe your original prom ate. Either way, we're running it back, divas. And this time, the category is REVENGE.
Queer Revenge Prom is your chance to prom again however the fuck you want to do it. DJs, drag, tarot, flash tattoos, prom photos, dancing, and a room full of queer people turning the absolute fuck up.
All proceeds from Queer Revenge Prom support the upcoming production of The Feminine Urge, a new trans horror play written by Caleb Dukes, premiering October 26, 27 & 28 at The Tank.
At a moment when trans people, and trans women in particular, are being made into political targets and villains, we're interested in making art that doesn't ask trans characters to be palatable, perfect, inspirational, or easy to digest.
The team bringing The Feminine Urge to life is queer and trans, both onstage and behind the scenes, and your ticket directly helps us pay the artists and production costs required to bring the show to life.

ABOUT THE FEMININE URGE
The Feminine Urge follows Carson, a trans sex worker who has never really liked men, except maybe for what she can get out of them. But when even the money stops being enough, Carson discovers something else she'd rather take:
Their lives.
Drawing inspiration from the trans villainy trope, The Feminine Urge is a bloody, funny, camp exploration of transness, feminine rage, desire, violence, and the terrifying possibility of falling in love.
We want trans characters who are complicated. We want them funny. We want them furious.
We want them center stage.
