About this Event
There's not a lot of neuroaffirming spaces that are explicity queer friendly, and fewer queer spaces that are neuroaffirming. We'd like to change that.
The 86 in Fitzroy will be turning down the music and making the space a bit more sensory friendly* for us on Saturday 26th September.
We will have spaces for introverts that are a bit quieter: these will have activities such as colouring, sketching, board games, and discussion cards. You're also welcome to bring your own preferred activities.
On the other side of the venue we will have an area for standing speed friending / mingling that anybody is welcome to opt into or out of; this will be host facilitated and will run for an hour or so.
What to expect:
- Name on arrival
- Friendly host with mental health training and shared lived experience (AuDHD)
- Your choice of opt in activity spaces
- Plenty of friendly queer & neurodivergent folk who want to hang out
- Venue remains open after (but the noise will creep up) for people who want to keep the evening going
We ask that all attendees uphold our values of respect and inclusivity while in our spaces. To learn more about Social Hub Group, our terms of service, and to see other upcoming events, check out our website.
*We note that all sensory profiles are different, please feel free to reach out and discuss your individual needs if you'd like to determine whether this space will be the right fit for you.
Experiencing financial hardship? If pricing is a barrier to attending, please reach out to us to discuss.
