About this Event
Pups & Pencils - Life Drawing
Join us in-person for a Dog Life Drawing Session—a fun, informal chance to practice sketching with a dog model!
This is our FIRST live session that is independently led so attendees can practice at their own pace. We hope to continue hosting once a month with different models based on demand. Feedback is welcome at the end of the session!
EVENT DETAILS
THE MODEL: The model of the day is Yuan; a friendly, large, and goofy dog resembling a Labrador with a black-brown short coat. Photo below! All pet models are kept on leash during the session with the handler. All pet models are cleared for vaccinations and behaviour. Other pets are not permitted during this session.
SESSION & BREAKS: This is a 1.5hr session with 15-min before and after to settle/pack-up and meet with the model. PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME; help us minimize any disruptions by being respectful to other artists, handlers, and pets. We will run through a series of timed poses with opportunity to view different angles of the same poses. There will be two 10-minute breaks for pups and people.
FOOD & DRINK: Outdoor food and drinks are permitted, please keep the space clean and remember that there are animals on site. Keep all food and drink on a table or enclosed in a safe area. Water will be provided.
PREPARATION: Drawing boards, chairs, and tables will be provided. All attendees are expected to bring their own materials and mediums for drawing.
PARKING & ACCESSIBILITY: Street parking is available near the building. Closest TTC station is Davisville Station (5-min walk). The space is wheelchair friendly. This session is hosted in a Condo Party Room located past the concierge desk.
Pups & Pencils started with two friends who love animals and have a passion for helping the art community. We created this session to create more opportunity for students and other artists gain access to a life drawing session that have pets as models.
