Lecture: “How Hollywood Gets Ghosts Wrong (and Right)" 👻

Speaker: Loyd Auerbach (Professor Paranormal), Parapsychologist, Educator, Paranormal Investigator, Author, Professional Mentalist, Featured on Netflix's Surviving Death & UnXplained 🧠

Are Hollywood ghosts anything like the real thing?

From creepy hauntings and flying furniture to psychic mediums and things that go bump in the night, movies have shaped how we imagine the paranormal. But how much of what we see on screen reflects real reports of paranormal experiences — and how much is pure Hollywood fiction?

Join Loyd Auerbach, aka Professor Paranormal, a parapsychologist, paranormal investigator, author, and educator who has also appeared in Netflix's Surviving Death, for an entertaining exploration of ghosts and the supernatural on the silver screen.

Drawing on decades of experience investigating paranormal claims and studying parapsychology, Loyd will unpack the tropes, myths, and cinematic liberties that shape our favourite ghost stories. Discover where Hollywood takes creative license, where its portrayals may have a surprising basis in reported experiences, and why the reality of the paranormal is often more complicated than the movies suggest.

Whether you're a horror-film fanatic or a curious skeptic, join us for an evening exploring the uneasy intersection of Hollywood storytelling and paranormal research.

From cinematic clichés to surprisingly plausible portrayals, we'll look at what Hollywood gets wrong, what it might get right, and what remains unexplained.
