The next ride will consist of our semi-annual Jersey shore experience as we head for Allaire State Park and ride to one of the more upscale sections on the NJ shore. Starting from Allaire Park, we'll follow the Edgar Felix bike path toward the shore, get off the path and ride through Spring Lake, cruise along the boardwalk for a mile, stop for lunch in Sea Girt, and take the bike path back to the park. Most of the bike path is smoothly paved, and total distance should be about 17-18 miles. Allaire State Park is conveniently located near Interstate I-195, making it an easy drive from central Jersey.Directions: Meet at our usual time of 10:45 AM, for a 11 AM ride start. Take I-195 east to exit 31B for Allaire State Park. Follow signs for the park, which will route you onto #547 north, then onto the first right on #524 (Allaire Rd.). Go a little over a mile and turn right into the park entrance. At the end of the road you'll come to the Visitor Center and a large parking lot, where you'll find leader Steve and his long, silvery recumbent bike. Rest rooms are available at the Visitor Center. As usual, everyone is welcome on the ride. If you haven't ridden in a while, make sure your tires are inflated and your bike is in good working order.

As usual, these dates are subject to change depending on the weather forecast.
In the event that rain is forecasted for the date of a ride, the ride may be rescheduled for some other day. This will be announced via e-mail several days before the ride.
