The Garden is going global! Join us for the second edition of this annual weekend-long film festival which will feature some of the best classic films from around the world. Running Friday, Oct. 9th-Sunday, Oct. 11th, we will be featuring works from nine different countries. Including beloved foreign classics like Godard’s WEEKEND, Ozu’s GOOD MORNING, and Murnau’s FAUST, as well as rarely screened gems like the Finnish melodrama RESTLESS BLOOD or the Senegalese road movie TOUKI BOUKI. 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: In this darkly comic breakthrough film from Yorgos Lanthimos (Bugonia), three young adults are kept isolated from the outside world by their controlling parents, who have constructed an alternate reality within the confines of their family compound. As cracks begin to appear in this carefully maintained system, the children's understanding of language, desire and freedom is thrown into disarray. Winner of the Un Certain Regard prize at the Cannes Film Festival, DOGTOOTH is a provocative, absurdist exploration of power, conditioning and the fragility of perceived truth. In Greek w/ subtitles.
