About this Event
Every research project is a project. Few researchers are ever taught to manage one.
Timelines slip, scope grows, supervisors and collaborators pull in different directions, and the plan lives mostly in your head. Project management is the fix: a set of practical, transferable skills for scoping work, setting milestones, managing risks, and finishing what you start. It serves your thesis now and follows you into any career after it.
Join the Slogotski Hunt Centre for Entrepreneurship (SHCE) and the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS) for Project Management for Researchers, a three-part lunchtime series in the Entrepreneurship Skills Series for Researchers, built for graduate students, postdocs, and the wider grad community from every discipline.
Across the three sessions, you will learn to:
- Scope a project accurately: define what done looks like before you start
- Break big, ambiguous goals into milestones, tasks, and realistic timelines
- Spot risks early and manage the ones that could sink your schedule
- Keep supervisors, collaborators, and partners aligned as the work evolves
This is one series, not three drop-ins. Register once and plan to attend all three sessions in person, since each builds on the last.
