
About this Event
Welcome to Primitive Pottery: A Journey from Soil to Earthenware! Join 4 Elements Earth Education at Historic Rittenhouse Town for this hands-on experience series where you'll be introduced to the ancient art of creating pottery from scratch (well, soil actually). You will be guided through the stages of processing wild clay, crafting with various hand building techniques, and utilzing only wood on an open fire to produce your very own earthenware creation. Get ready to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty, and slip into the timeless world of hands, clay, and fire to create a vessel from the Earth herself!
Course Dates:
- Wednesday, April 23 from 7 - 9 pm
- Wednesday, April 30 from 7 - 9 pm
- Wednesday, May 7 from 7 - 9 pm
- Wednesday, May 14 from 7 - 9 pm

Location:
- This program will take place at the 'Barn' at Historic Rittenhouse Town. This is the building also accompanied by Paper Trail Bike Cafe, and can be found via the address 211 Lincoln Dr., Philadelphia, PA 19144.
Program Times:
- This program will run on four consecutive Wednesday evenings from 7 pm - 9 pm.
Attendees:
- Only people who have registered and are above the age of 18 are welcome to join us at this event. All others will be asked to leave our class area for the duration of this program.
- We love kids, and we love pets, but neither of these two wonderful beings are welcome at this specific program.
Gear List:
- Generally speaking, do not wear clothes that you consider to be of value to you. You will likely not be as clean and tidy as you leave as when you arrived. Please plan accordingly.
- Please bring water and a snack for yourself.
- All clay and materials will be provided.
