About this Event
Join us for an evening of celebrating 25 years of Salem Alliance for the Environment! This milestone event, Powered by Salem, is will be a moment to celebrate a reimagined SAFE and the unveiling of our revised Mission Statement. Our fundraiser will go to sustaining critical resident-led climate work ahead.
In 2026 SAFE has collaborated on high urban heat and climate leadership in the Point Neighborhood, installed air quality monitors, explored coastal resilience and relocation, hosted an EV rebate workshop, put on events around climate injustice and displacement, continued to push for a just energy transition at the port, shared popular education on community owned energy, and advocated to protect Mass Save.
Every year we welcome featured guests and honor two members of the community who are fighting for and tending to a Just Future in Salem. This year we will be celebrating resident climate leadership in The Point.
Community Awardees: To be Announced
Featured Speakers: Roseann Bongiovanni of GreenRoots & Mireille Bejjani of Slingshot, Facilitated by Dr. Marcos Luna
About Us
SAFE started as an all-volunteer group and in recent years, became a resourced organization. SAFE convenes community conversations, builds coalitions, and backs resident leadership on climate justice with organizing capacity. We integrate Spanish language access across our work, and strive for language justice. Our work incorporates collaborative governance and community wealth building.
