About this Event
Working with youth—especially those impacted by systems, trauma, and inequity—requires strength, patience, and heart. But in the daily grind of managing behaviors, holding space, and staying present, stress can creep in fast. Before we know it, we’re reacting instead of responding, and our energy is drained.
#PowerPause is a high-energy, heart-centered workshop designed by youth workers, for youth workers. Together, we’ll explore how to recognize the moment stress is rising and how to reset—in real time—so we can lead with clarity and compassion.
Through storytelling, movement, and real-world scenarios, participants will:
- Build self-awareness about how stress and urgency show up at work
- Learn the Power Pause—a simple, powerful tool to de-escalate themselves before reacting
- Practice self-regulation strategies that support connection, not conflict
- Reflect on the influence of adult power in youth spaces—and how to use it with care
This is not your typical training—expect music, movement, laughter, truth-telling, and connection. Leave feeling grounded, energized, and ready to show up for youth—and yourself—with intention.
Because sometimes, the most powerful move we can make… is to pause.
