About this Event
CWMS is pleased to announce the first event of our 2026/27 season.
Deepan Xavier is a Doctoral Researcher at Coventry University's Centre for Manufacturing and Materials. His presentation will expand on a poster he recently presented at the Beyond Nickel-Based Superalloys V conference in Birmingham, an event he attended with sponsorship from CWMS - so we look forward to as many CWMS members as possible coming to take advantage of our investment!
Deepan's presentation will discuss the development of refractory high-entropy alloys (RHEAs) for next-generation high-temperature applications using energy-efficient powder metallurgy routes. The work focuses on the consolidation of FFC-derived AlMoNbTaTiZr powders using Field Assisted Sintering Technology (FAST), and examines the relationships between processing conditions, phase evolution, grain growth behaviour, and mechanical response. The talk will also highlight how advanced characterisation techniques such as EBSD and XRD can be used to understand microstructural development in complex alloy systems and support the design of future high-performance materials.
