Celebrate Black History Month UK 2026 with an inspiring evening honouring this year’s theme, “Honouring Our Communities.”Enjoy exhibitions, authentic Caribbean food, stalls, music, poetry and film, all celebrating the people and communities that help shape and sustain life across the UK.
The evening features a screening of a moving film adapted from Victor Richards’ acclaimed one-man play. From Augustus Cleveland Johnson’s arrival in England in 1948, the film traces decades of resilience, family, culture and identity through evocative recreations, voiceover and historical archive footage. Filmed across Leicester and the Midlands, it is a powerful celebration of Caribbean-British heritage and the generation that helped shape modern Britain.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Victor Richards.
