World is Burning Productions, with Beau Photo Supplies as a sponsor, is pleased to bring together Curtis Look Photography (featured in Whimsical Magazine) with learners who want to get better at photographing people. Participants in this 3-hour portraiture workshop will shoot with a professional model and receive direct feedback from their instructor, while learning how to direct a pose, read the light, and catch a moment as it happens -all in a supportive and relaxed atmosphere with good tunes, delectable refreshments and great company. The mission is simple: elevated learning, an unforgettable event, beautiful moments and transcendent images.
This 3-hour weekend workshop is more manageable than a multi-day course for all you motivated but time-poor learners out there, providing hands-on practice that you just don't get from watching youtube tutorials. It's experiential learning where you can network with other local photographers and build your confidence behind the lens, in a creative, fun, friendly and supportive setting. Refreshments generously provided by Chilliwack's Whispering Horse Winery are provided to fuel your creativity, while the soundtrack to your most memorable photography workshop plays in the background. What: Portraiture / Fashion Photography workshop led by Curtis Look Photography, accredited by Professional Photographers of Canada and featured in Whimsical Magazine.
When: Sunday November 29th, 1-4pm (3 hours). Participants can arrive a bit early and wait in studio if necessary. Onsite and on-street parking available.
Where: Curtis's fully equipped professional photo studio near Boundary Rd and Marine Way (south end of Boundary, 8652 Joffre).
How much: $250, includes refreshments and gift portrait from the workshop (print).
Who: this workshop targets intermediate level learners, those further along than the casual smartphone user, but, this is also not aimed at seasoned industry professionals looking for an advanced fashion editorial session. Students should have a mirrorless / dslr camera. Maximum 10 participants, budget based on 6 (so 6-10 students).
Cancellation Policy: within 24 hours, no refund. 24 hours and beyond: $100 refund and 50% off next workshop ($125 value). [this covers the eventbrite fees].
Format: Using a professional model, a mix of group lecture and individual hands-on practice. Refreshments and music to create relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Break after 90 minutes.
