Step into PORTAL: RADIANCE, an immersive light and sound experience celebrating the extraordinary beauty of being alive.
Created by multidisciplinary artists Judy Berberian and Janet Hansen, PORTAL brings together mesmerizing LED light installations, live vocals, original atmospheric soundscapes, crystal singing bowls, percussion, and poetic spoken word.
Over the course of 60 minutes, light and sound evolve in a vibrant journey of expression, connection, and possibility—from moments of intimate stillness to exhilarating waves of color, rhythm, and sound.
At its heart, RADIANCE is an invitation to embrace the fullness of being human: our capacity to feel deeply, love freely, create boldly, and illuminate the world simply bybeing ourselves.
This is not a traditional concert or sound bath. It is a multi-sensory performance designed to be witnessed, felt, and experienced.
A celebration of life, light, and the beautiful energy we bring into the world.
The Experience
Set within Janet Hansen's Celebrating Light exhibition at Covet Art Gallery, PORTAL surrounds audiences with an evolving interplay of illuminated sculpture, original sound compositions, and live performance.
Judy's expressive voice moves between ethereal melodies, improvisation, and spoken word, while Janet's sculptural light installations pulse, breathe, and transform in dialogue with the music.
Together, they create a world that is at once technologically modern and deeply human.

Event Details
Schedule:
- 6:00-6:45pm: Guests arrive and explore the art show
- 7:00-8:00pm: PORTAL experience
- 8:15pm: Q&A with Janet and Judy
- 9:00pm: Evening ends
What to know: Space is limited to 50 guests. Please plan to arrive between 6:00 and 6:45pm, so you have time to see the exhibit and settle in before the performance begins. Light refreshments will be provided.
Seating: Choose whatever is most comfortable for you. Guests are welcome to sit or lie down on a yoga mat, or to sit in a chair. Comfortable gallery seating is available for anyone who would prefer it, and we are happy to set a seat aside for you. Just let us know when you arrive. You are also welcome to bring your own folding chair or yoga mat, and we will have a limited number of extra mats and cushions to share.
Weather: Parts of the venue are outdoors. Please dress warmly. Evenings can be cool, and blankets are welcome. If the weather is poor, we will consider a few options - 1) moving PORTAL indoors, where the experience may be slightly different and seating would be more limited, or 2) rescheduling for another night. We will email all ticketholders by 2pm on December 19 if there is a change. You will be given the option to transfer your ticket to another date, or to request a refund.
Light effects: PORTAL features color-changing light, and some of it responds directly to live sound, so the lighting may change quickly or unpredictably at times, including brief pulses or flashes. If you have photosensitive epilepsy or another light sensitivity, please consult your doctor before attending. You are welcome to sit farther from the art, or to close your eyes at any point during the experience.
