A crash course in navigating the Dutch music industry - with Pay Williams
Want to play in the Netherlands, but don’t know how to land gigs? Where to find funding? And where to meet other artists to work with? Pay Williams knows the way and gives a practical crash course in one evening.
This Popradar Academy, which is held in English, focusses on international artists in The Hague, but Dutch artists are welcome too, of course!
What you’ll learn:
1. Getting gigs
How do you map out the venues and festivals in your genre? How do you approach them yourself? And when is it time to find a booker?
2. Funding
Which funds are available to artists in the Netherlands? From national funds like Sena and the Performing Arts Fund NL (Fonds Podiumkunsten) to local support through Popradar Music Support.
3. Building your network
Where to find like-minded people? Pay shares places and events where artists can meet other artists and scene professionals, like No Man’s Land and ADE Beats.

Deze Popradar Academy is in het Engels en speciaal bedoeld voor internationale makers in Den Haag. Nederlandse makers zijn natuurlijk ook welkom.

Hoe maak je een overzicht van zalen en festivals in jouw genre? Hoe benader je ze zelf? En wanneer is het tijd voor een boeker?
2. Financiering
Welke fondsen zijn er voor makers in Nederland? Van landelijke fondsen zoals Sena en het Fonds Podiumkunsten tot lokale ondersteuning via Popradar Music Support.
3. Je netwerk opbouwen
Waar vind je gelijkgestemden? Pay deelt plekken en events waar je makers en mensen uit de scene ontmoet, zoals No Man’s Land en ADE Beats.
