About this Event
On November 3rd, tens of thousands of political yard signs in Sacramento County will become obsolete. They are not recyclable and most of them will end up in the landfill unless candidates and campaigns participate in this unique Politics-to-Art event co-sponsored by Habitat for Humanity, Atlas Disposal, Atrium Creative Innovation for Sustainability, and the National Stewardship Action Council, and coordinated by SMUD Board member, Gregg Fishman.
These signs are made of corrugated plastic which can be cut and upcycled into other signs, decor, planters, or canvases. The possibilities are endless! We aim to collect as many signs as possible and make them available to artists, teachers, students, crafters, hobbyists, and anyone who can put them to good use.
