About this Event

What this is

Most boys are told to be a man without ever being shown how. POISED LYFE is two days of showing them.

Your son spends Saturday and Sunday working on the things nobody sits him down and explains: how to set a goal and keep it, how to make a decision he won't regret, what respect actually looks like in a relationship, and why his worth isn't something he has to perform for anybody.

We use REAL Essentials, the curriculum required by Louisiana Youth for Excellence. The content is age-appropriate and medically accurate, and it includes sexual risk avoidance education.

When and where

Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2026. 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM both days. Both days are required.
United Way of Southeast Louisiana Resiliency Center, 2831 St. Claude Ave, New Orleans, LA 70117.

What's included

Free. Lunch both days. Every participant gets a $25 gift card for completing the entry and exit surveys, which the grant requires and which take about ten minutes each.

For parents and guardians

You're part of this. Every participant needs a signed parent permission form before day one, and there's a short session for the adult in your son's life. After you register, I'll email you the permission form, workshop outline, and the full schedule.

Eligibility

Boys ages 10 to 13 who have not previously participated in a LYFE-funded program. Only Fifteen seats.

Who's teaching

David Rachal III, Founder and CEO|G of Poised Gentlemen Institute. I facilitate every session myself.
