About this Event
Event Photos

This workshop series is ideal for individuals of all ages who want to get outside, meet other creative folks, connect with nature, experiment with their authentic selves to create written pieces that reflect who they are and how they see the world. During each workshop, I will bring some activities to inspire creative writing and introspection, as well as create a safe space to share and...

  • Find inspiration and connection in nature
  • Build our creative stamina
  • Discover confidence and support in community
  • Reconnect with our authentic selves through open-hearted expression
  • Write some poems and create some other cool stuff
  • Remember that we are human beings living in community with each other and nature

In addition to our in-person meetings, attendees will have access to an online Google Classroom community, which includes community resources, writing exercises, and discounts. The Google Classroom also provides a space for connection and collaboration.

Please note that 1873 Bloor is the address of High Park and Google Maps will often send you to the center of the park. Make sure to go to Outdoor Pool within High Park and find the picnic table across the street. You can look for the tennis courts as you walk down the main street of the park.In the event of inclement weather, the workshops will be rescheduled. Access to the Google classroom link is provided after sign up; please access for updates and to share resources. The workshops will take place on Fridays at 4:45pm to 6:15pm. The first workshops is $10, and then you can sign up for additional classes at a discount, if you like. You can pay here on Eventbrite or bring cash to the park on the day of the event. Meet our Instructor: Lisa Pfau

Lisa Pfau, founder and CEO of PFAU, has over 20 years’ experience helping students to improve their writing skills in academic, professional, and creative settings, including supporting clients' to share and publish their work. Although she spends a lot of her time in the academic and professinoal world coaching new writers as part-time Professor at Humber Polytechnic and writing consultant at the Indigneous Education Network, University of Toronto, she believes that all writing requires creativity. She writes poems, reflections, short stories, and other musings in her free time, and is currently working on publishing a poetry book on grief and book chapter on the "Social Impacts of Loneliness in Higher Education" with Springer Press. Her passion is injecting creativity into generally boring submissions and presentations to engage the audience and tell a personal story that sticks. She looks forward to sharing her experiences and expertise with you to help you to reach your full potential on the page and in life.
