We’re so excited to welcome T.S. Eliot prize winning poet Joelle Taylor to Lala Books. Joelle will be joined by Olive Franklin, with additional readings from Page of Wands and open mic slots.
Joelle Taylor is the author of four collections of poetry, including 2025's Maryville. Her collection C+NTO & Othered Poems won the prestigious T.S Eliot Prize and the Polari Book Prize. She is a former UK Poetry Slam Champion, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, and co-curates and hosts Out-Spoken, the monthly poetry and music night at Southbank Centre.
Olive Franklin is a poet whose debut pamphlet, Dyke Juvenilia, won the Poetry London Pamphlet Competition. Her poems have appeared in Granta, Poetry and The Poetry Review, alongside other publications across the UK and Europe. She lives in London.
is a writers’ collective that meets weekly at SET Social in Peckham. They are for anyone that’s interested in and enjoys words.
Tickets are £12 and fully redeemable against any poetry book on the evening.
Open mic performers have five minutes (on a first come, first served basis) and receive complimentary drinks.
