Bobby Bruce and the Solitary Band are thrilled to be included in the PNE/Playland's Inaugural Event at the Freedom Mobile Arch.“The Freedom Mobile Arch is a new home for music, art and culture in British Columbia and we are so proud to feature BC and Canadian artists for the Opening Night Celebration,” says PNE President and CEO Shelley Frost. “This evening signifies the PNE’s dedication to our cultural and creative communities, and our belief in the opportunity a world-class venue like the Freedom Mobile Arch gives as a gathering place for shared experiences.”
The Opening Night Celebration will be a powerful, theatrical event that reflects the spirit of British Columbia. The program will spotlight’s homegrown talent alongside marquee names, many of whom have deep ties to the PNE and Vancouver. The evening will feature over 200 performers and is designed to reflect the creative spirit of our province, and of the shared history of the PNE and the role it has played in the collective memories of our province.
The Freedom Mobile Arch Opening Night is a variety show that is a distinctly live Canadian experience. The 90-minute event will blend a meaningful Indigenous cultural welcome, music, dance, comedy and storytelling into a celebration of our rich cultural past. Guests to this event will also have the first public opportunity to view the significant and important pieces of Indigenous art that anchor the venue.
Special performance and hosted by one of Canada’s most beloved artists and storytellers, Jann Arden, other performers include: International Recording Artists, Tyson Venegas; world-renowned opera singer Spencer Britten; Bobby Bruce’s Nearly Neil and the Solitary Band, as well surprise musical artists, dignitaries and special guests.
On June 5, 2026, the Freedom Mobile Arch officially opens—one of the most highly anticipated new music, arts, and culture venues in North America.
