Wildfires, floods, food shortages, soaring energy costs, fire clouds, species extinction... and wars.
Why are we still burning the planet?
Amidst wars and environmental emergencies, we watch on television the rise of the first "trillionaire" - a member of an elite class happy to undermine science and deny the climate crisis, yet quick to invest the millions they avoid paying in taxes into corporate mass-surveillance technology, illicit resource extraction, and support for far-right narratives (nazi salutes and all), rather than investing in the transition to an era of clean energy and sustainable jobs.
That is why we speak of climate justice: because this emergency demands that we address social injustices and refuse to let elites erase the reality of what is happening. Let us break the silence. Let us keep the public conversation grounded in sanity and remind everyone that we must stay active 🙌🏼
🌿 Join us for our annual Climate March and Summit in Plymouth on 14th November Global Day of Action, coinciding with the UN climate negotiations (COP31)- taking place this year in Antalya, Türkiye.
Our march through the city centre highlights the ongoing emergency, while the summit offers a range of educational workshops (and a community lunch!🍜) that give us the chance to connect, find inspiration, and discover the many ways we can get involved in the movement - both as individuals and as a community.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME 🙌🏻 All voices, all genders, all nationalities, one humanity 🌈
