A Placebo Budapesten is megünnepli 30 éves jubileumát.
A kultikus brit zenekar idén ünnepli debütáló lemeze 30. évfordulóját, a jubileum apropójából pedig bejelentették az album átdolgozását Placebo RE:CREATED címmel és egy ünnepi turnét is, ahol a Placebo és a Without You I’m Nothing dalai lesznek a középpontban. Brian Molko és csapata 10 év után koncerteznek ismét Budapesten, november 13-án, a Budapest Arénában.
Harminc éve, 1996-ban, a britpop korszak dübörgésekor jelent meg a Placebo áttörést jelentő debütáló albuma, amely éles ellentétben állt az akkor uralkodó kulturális hangulattal. Míg a brit gitárzene jelentős része a macsóbb attitűdöt és a nemzeti identitást képviselte, addig a Placebo az első pillanattól egy provokatívabb, konfrontatívabb hangvételt képviselt. A dalok őszintén foglalkoztak a szexualitás, az androgünitás, a függőség és az elidegenedés témáival – oly módon, ahogy akkoriban ritkán lehetett hallani a mainstream rockban -, ezzel a zenekar generációja egyik legegyedibb hangjává vált.
Harminc évvel később a Placebo RE:CREATED új nézőpontból tér vissza ehhez a meghatározó albumhoz. Az új lemez az eredeti tíz dal átdolgozott és kibővített változatait tartalmazza, valamint két bónusz számot is az eredeti kiadásból. A felvételek azt tükrözik, hogyan változtak ezek a dalok évtizedeken át, a koncertek során, miközben megőrzik az eredeti nyersanyag szellemiségét.
A lemez június 19-i megjelenést követően a Placebo egy nagyszábású brit és európai arénaturnéra indul, hogy megünnepelje ezt a mérföldkőnek számító évfordulót. A zenekar az első két albumuk – azaz a Placebo és a Without You I’m Nothing – dalait játssza, köztük olyan számok is felcsendülnek majd, amelyeket több mint 20 éve nem adtak elő élőben. Az állomások közül Budapest sem marad ki: a zenekar 10 év után tér vissza Magyarországra, hogy velünk is megünnepeljék az elmúlt 30 évet november 13-án, a Budapest Arénában.
A koncertre elsőként a zenekar hivatalos rajongói klubjának tagjai válthatnak jegyet március 24-én, 10 órától. A regisztrált Live Nation tagok másnap, március 25-én, 10 órától csatlakozhatnak az elővásárlási lehetőséghez, míg a teljes körű jegyértékesítés március 27-én, 10 órakor indul.

Placebo celebrates the 30th anniversary in Budapest as well.
The cult British band is celebrating the 30th anniversary of their debut album this year. To mark the occasion, they have announced a reworked version of the record titled Placebo RE:CREATED, as well as an anniversary tour focusing on songs from Placebo and Without You I’m Nothing. Brian Molko and his band will return to Budapest after 10 years, performing on November 13 at Budapest Arena.
Thirty years ago, arriving at the height of the Britpop era, Placebo stood in stark contrast to the prevailing cultural mood. While much of British guitar music at the time leaned into laddish nostalgia and national identity, Placebo’s debut delivered something altogether more provocative and confrontational. Its songs addressed sexuality, androgyny, addiction and alienation with an honesty rarely heard in mainstream rock at the time, establishing the band as one of the most distinctive voices of their generation.
Thirty years on, Placebo RE:CREATED sees the band return to this pivotal album with a fresh perspective. The new record features reworked and embellished versions of all ten tracks from the original album plus two bonus tracks from the original release, capturing the way these songs have evolved across decades of performance while retaining the raw spirit that defined them.
Later this year Placebo will embark on an extensive UK and European arena tour to celebrate this momentous anniversary. The band will be performing songs from their first two albums, Placebo and Without You I’m Nothing – some of which have not been performed live for over 20 years!
Tickets will be first available for members of the band’s official fanclub starting at 10am on March 24. Registered Live Nation members can join the presale the following day, March 25 at 10 AM, while general ticket sales begin at 10 AM on March 27.
