In 1936, Pedro Linares dreamed of a forest full of impossible animals — a donkey with butterfly wings, a lion with an eagle's head — all shouting one word: *alebrijes.* He spent the rest of his life building them. This Hispanic Heritage Month, we're building ours. You'll sculpt your own alebrije out of air-dry clay, then bring it to life with acrylics and paint markers. No experience needed — alebrijes aren't supposed to look "right." Yours will be lopsided and loud and completely yours, and you'll take it home the same night.
Paletas available all evening. 🍦
$30 includes clay, paint, paint markers and tools. Only 15 spots.
A few things to know: wear clothes you don't mind getting clay on, your piece will need 2–3 more days to fully harden at home, and kids under 12 are welcome with an adult.
