Islington Council is a partner in the project, and the Tree Team will be attending this walk to show us which types of trees are most suited to the area and our changing climate. We'll be able to pick the trees we'd like to see locally from their list of suitable trees.
This is a wonderful chance to be part of the decision-making for this project and to learn more about suitable trees in our changing climate.
This event will meet at Whittington Park Community Centre, in the community garden on Rupert Road. We'll then walk together around the area, discussing where trees can go.
The Tree Team has identified suitable areas for trees to be planted, including some areas of pavement that will be de-paved to make room for new trees. These locations have been picked for a variety of reasons and are unlikely to be changed. However, we do get a say in which trees will be planted.
The event is suitable for all ages. Please dress for the weather.
